Lublin
Americans and the Holocaust Exhibit
A devil in a Nazi uniform hides, surrounded by a pile of skulls. This cartoon from Daniel Fitzpatrick may refer to the discovery of Majdanek during the Soviet advance to capture Lublin. The discovery of the mass death in the concentration camp and the Nazis' attempt to hide it began the Allies' challenge to comprehend what happened there. ;Daniel Fitzpatrick Collection,F582 1944-09-06.
