Columbia Professional World: Index for 1901 - 1903
Missouri Bicentennial Collection
The Columbia Professional World index is part of our reference collection and was the newspaper published by and for Black residents of Columbia in the early 1900s. The index was compiled in 1991 by the late Charles O'Dell of Columbia. At the time, it wasn't known that the paper actually existed well into the 1920s, but what Mr. O'Dell does transcribe are the years of the extant newspaper run between 1901 and 1903.
Researchers can also use this index in tandem with the actual digitized newspaper in the Library of Congress Chronicling America: https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn89066321/
