Midway One-Room Schoolhouses Collection

Continuation of the memo to the parents of the students of the Midway C-7 school. V. Hot Lunch

  • All children are asked to participate in lunch program.
  • No free meals will be served.
  • Payment for meals may be made daily, weekly or monthly. Children and parents make arrangements with their teacher on payment routine.
  • Chocolate milk will be served with meals only on Fridays. (If children want it.) White milk with meals other four days.
  • 25¢ per day will be charged for meal. If they can be served for less price will be lowered.
  • Milk will be available to children at each recess for additional 3¢ per 1/2 (one-half) pint.
VI. Bus Routes
  • Three bus routes at present.
    • One will start about 1/2 mile east of Callahan creek east of Woodlandville continue west to route J, south to route EE, west approximately 2 miles and back to J, south to Lance Henderson corner, west to highway 40 and east on 40 to school
    • One will start on Booth Lane and highway 40, North on Booth Lane to first crossroad, east to Midway road to Clarence Carlos house turns around and returns on Midway road to highway 40. East on 40 to Rays Station, west on Everett Jacob road to Hickory Grove school, north to 40 and on to school.
    • One will start at Highway 40 on Valley Spring road. South and east on Valley road to Gillaspy bridge, south to Huntsdale, north on route O and east on 40 to school.
  • Buses will probably start about 7:15 A.M.
VII. Age of Children
  • Children are to be six years of age by Dec. 31, of the starting year.
