Midway One-Room Schoolhouses Collection

"Midway School" 1844: Midway school was established. First school in Boone County. Everything was donated. Built on Booneslick Trail. Captain Benjamin Watson gave the land. 1871: Location changed. Moved across the road from L.D. Henderson 1884: Cyclone hit. School rebuilt. 1925: School burnt. 1944: Celebrated Centennial Anniversary 1954: Consolidated with Callahan School. Renamed Midway-Callahan Center. 1956: Last year. 1957: 112th year. Consolidated with 6 other schools.
